KU NOSH Short Course: How to Help a Person with Dementia Eat

Mealtime can become one of the most challenging parts of caregiving when someone has Alzheimer's disease or another type of dementia - but it doesn't have to be. This 1-hour training teaches caregivers (1) what a person living with dementia is experiencing due to changes in their senses; (2) three specific handfeeding techniques with information on how and when to use each one; and (3) and practical strategies for the most common mealtime behaviors. No medical background required - just a willingness to learn and a desire to help.
